Akbar Suwardi is Executive Vice President of Risk Management at Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM). Responsible for guiding Credit Risk Management Division, Credit Recovery Division, and Operational & Corporation Risk Management Division.

Akbar has over 12 years of Banking Industries experience as Economist, Corporate Communication Manager, Department Head of Credit Risk Management, Division Head of Credit Risk Management.

Akbar also completed various certifications, including Certified Compliance Professional, Certified Anti Fraud Officer, and multiple levels of Certified Banking Risk Management. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia. He has also participated in global training programs at Erasmus Rotterdam University, Oxford University, and Euromoney Learning.

Dr. Evan Steeg has 30 years in innovation as a researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, and consultant. He was among the first to apply AI tools to drug discovery and built a company that sold genomics analysis software worldwide.  He has advised Fortune 100 companies, start-ups and the US, Canadian and UAE governments on advanced technologies including machine learning, bioinformatics and synthetic biology.   He received his B.A. in Mathematics from Cornell University, and his MSc and PhD from the University of Toronto under deep AI “deep learning” pioneer Dr. Geoffrey Hinton.  Recent projects include development of a labor market intelligence system for the Ontario government, and computer vision systems for global telematics company OrbComm.  He is a Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Aise Bio, Inc., a Boston-based synthetic biology startup.

Joanne Flinn, is the author of Greensight. The Sustainability Guide for Company Directors, and the Chairwoman of the ESG Institute. Her passion is helping business leaders profitably accelerate their transition to Net Zero and beyond. Taking a strategic approach to ESG based enterprise transformation, the ESG Institute’s capacity building and pragmatic, commercial roadmaps deliver business value. 

Former Country Head of PricewaterhouseCoopers Financial Services Consulting, she is the Co-founder of the Change Leaders at the University of Oxford. Joanne holds a Bachelors of Economics, a Bachelors of Laws, a post-graduate Diploma in Finance and Investment, and a Master’s of Science in Change Leadership (HEC). 

She has lived and worked in Asia for over 40 years, Australian born, she calls Singapore home. Joanne is also known as Booth Aster, a fine artist.

Sumiyati is an inspiring figure who currently serves as Commissioner of PT Bahana Pembinaan Usaha Indonesia (Persero) or Indonesia Financial Group (IFG), a state-owned holding company for insurance and guarantee enterprises.

She is also active as a member of the Audit Committee at the Ministry of Health. Previously, she was one of the prominent women in the Ministry of Finance (MoF), being the first female Inspector General.

Sumiyati has a long history and extensive experience, having worked at the Ministry of Finance for more than 39 years. Her achievements and contributions have proven to be exemplary. In fact, toward the end of her service, the Minister of Finance referred to Sumiyati as an extraordinary role model for all officials in the Ministry of Finance due to her dedication and integrity.

Additionally, she has served as the Head of the Financial Education and Training Agency (BPPK). Born in Sragen on July 6, 1961, she holds a Diploma III and Diploma IV in Accounting from the State College of Accountancy, Jakarta. Sumiyati further pursued her Master’s degree in Financial Management at Central Queensland University, Australia.

Suroso Isnandar has been serving as the Director of Risk Management at PT PLN (Persero) since 2023. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and a master's degree in Power Engineering and Management from the University of Abertay Dundee, United Kingdom. With over three decades of experience at PLN, he has held various strategic roles, including Head of Digital and Information Technology Unit (2022–2023), General Manager in key operational units, and Vice President of System Planning. In addition to his role at PLN, he is also the Chairman of the Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative, showcasing his leadership in advancing smart grid technologies and innovations. Suroso is recognized for his expertise in risk management, system planning, and information technology in the energy sector.

Dr. Antonius Alijoyo is the founder and principal of Center for Risk Management and Studies Indonesia (crmsIndonesia), active in the development of GRC practices in Indonesia, especially in building professional competencies either in private or public sectors. 

Currently, he is the chairperson of Supervisory/Advisory Board of Indonesia Risk Management Professional Association (IRMAPA), and chairperson of Technical Committee 03-10 National Standardization Body that issued various National Standards related to Governance, Risk Management and Compliance. 

At the international stage, Dr. Antonius Alijoyo has been entrusted as a member of Global Council of Complex Risk 2023-2024 – World Economic Forum and has been exposed to various initiatives.

Achmad Achyari is a Head of Corporate Strategy with over 13 years of experience in strategic planning, investment, and business development. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, Achmad has successfully led transformative initiatives focused on sustainable growth and innovation within Bluebird. Achmad's work integrates environmental and sustainable business models through a comprehensive Bluebird's 3M strategy, incorporating multichannel access, sustainable multipayment options, and multiproduct services. Achmad’s efforts have driven substantial revenue while supporting Bluebird’s journey toward sustainability, even during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic. With executive education in digital transformation, Achmad continues to be a leader in designing business strategies that balance profitability with environmental and social impact, making him an advocate for sustainable corporate evolution.

Aldi Ardilo is the executive director at Enterprise Risk Management Academy (ERMA Pte Ltd) and the founder and chief executive of CyberWhale. He graduated with a bachelor's of psychology, concentrating in industrial and organizational (I/O) psychology, and he got his Master's in Business Administration in Japan. With over eight years of experience in risk management, quirky creativity, and a human-centric approach, together with his team, he has built several applications and creative content to help an organization to strengthen its risk-aware culture. At the moment, he's pursuing his doctoral degree in Middlesbrough, UK, where he focuses his research on the interrelationships between individuals' psychological processes and their organizations' risk management maturity and risk leadership.

Fadjar Proboseno is the CEO of Risk Resolution, with extensive expertise in implementing risk management across various industries, including notable organizations such as Bank Indonesia, OJK, the Ministry of Health, PLN, Jasa Marga, Pelabuhan Indonesia, KPEI, Indonesia Re, TASPEN, Jasa Raharja, and Astra International and its subsidiaries, among others. He is also a member of the Risk Oversight and Integrated Governance Committee at IFG. Previously, he held key leadership roles as Head of Risk Management and Head of Internal Audit at Astra International, Tbk.

In addition to his executive roles, Fadjar serves as a Technical Advisor and Master Trainer for CRMS Indonesia, having delivered over 5,000 hours of training to thousands of participants, including hundreds of certified holders. As a Master Trainer and Technical Advisor for ERMA, he has provided risk management training and certification preparation in numerous countries, further establishing his authority in the field.

Group Captain Chamnan Kumsap graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the Royal Thai Air Force Academy and served the Royal Thai Air Forces in the geo-spatial mission. He received MSc in Geographical Information Systems from the University of Edinburgh in 1998 and completed his PhD in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems from Asian Institute of Technology in 2005. Resigning from the Armed Forces, he applies geo-spatial techniques to research projects at Defence Technology Institute. His contributions to the ERMA International Conference on Enterprise Risk Management are ICT  – related and include the Best Paper Award at the International Defence and Homeland Security Simulation Workshop in 2016, the Winner of Call for Innovation at the Southeast Asia Water Security – IWRM Regional Conference in 2023, the Winner of Inter-Agency Award under Whole-of-Government Awards in Festival of Innovation Awards 2024 at Sands Expo, Singapore, 26 March 2024 and the Winner of Public Initiatives of ASEAN Risk Awards 2024 at St. Regis in Bangkok, Thailand on 5 July 2024.

Shu Yuan is a Vice President in the Strategic Risk Consulting practice at Marsh, specializing in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). His experiences include providing risk advisory services to clients across both the private and public sector, as well as in various industries such as real estate, infrastructure, oil & gas, education, healthcare, hospitality, retail, transportation and technology. Shu Yuan has also been involved in internal audit and sustainability-related projects for clients across Asia.

Shu Yuan has led organizations in the design, development, and implementation of ERM and control frameworks in line with best practices and/or regulatory requirements. More recently, he has been supporting organizations in the integration of ESG into risk management programs, ensuring alignment of risk management and sustainability goals.

His span of experience includes performing risk management and maturity reviews, as well as developing in-depth risk identification and assessments, monitoring mechanisms, risk appetite and tolerance thresholds, and risk reporting frameworks and materials.

Shu Yuan is also experienced in public sector ERM and has been involved in the development of multiple end-to-end risk management processes for Ministries, Statutory Boards and government agencies. This includes the alignment of risk processes, practices and frameworks between theMinistry and its Agencies.

Marc is married and very proud of his wife and their two grown-up sons. He lives in Porto, Portugal, and speaks five languages. His work brings him into contact with diverse multicultural environments, primarily in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

Mark is an analytics practitioner specializing in Assurance, Risk and Forensic analytics. He has analytics teams across SEA in The Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Mark also leads the AI Assurance portfolio for Deloitte Asia Pacific helping clients assure AI models and mitigate risk. The use of AI & GenAI as a service delivery transformation enabler is also a key focus of his when it comes to the second and third lines of defense.

Mark uses analytics to provide insight on regulatory compliance, AI assurance and risk identification and mitigation such as fraud risk, financial crime, financial risk, operational risk etc.

13 Elements’ Founder, Martin N. Smith brings 25 years’ experience establishing best-in-class Governance Risk Compliance frameworks. During his career he has worked with some of the world's most prominent banks, including Morgan Stanley & Credit Suisse in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. As Chief Operating Officer for Credit Suisse Asia Compliance, he served as the senior officer responsible for developing the strategy, governance and administration required to deliver compliance’s strategic priorities across people, process and technology.

Quentin is a sustainability professional with more than 12 years of experience in energy, sustainability and technology. Prior to founding Qanopy, he worked as Managing Director of Sustainability Solutions for Zuno Carbon. He has been leading numerous engagements such as carbon inventories, energy efficiency programs and training on sustainability.

Quentin holds a Master's of Engineering from Grenoble Institute of Technology, France. He also has various certifications including Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, GHG Protocol and more.

Sarjit is a senior advisor in Deloitte Southeast Asia. He is a qualified chartered accountant with over 30 years of multinational experience in audit, advisory and corporate roles, including 16 years in assurance and advisory practice with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to joining Deloitte, Sarjit served in various leadership roles as CEO, Singapore of In.Corp Global, Chairman and Senior Partner of Kreston ACA, CFO of AIA Singapore, and CFO of Aviva Asia.

Over the past 9 years, Sarjit has led significant client engagements to structure and formulate risk management frameworks; perform internal audits and pre-IPO internal controls reviews; conduct internal reviews over sustainability reporting; sustainability reporting frameworks and processes; implement regulatory compliance; perform financial due diligence; and client training programmes. His clients included various SGX public listed companies, multinationals, financial institutions, government ministries (MHA, MOE, MND, MSF, MOH), organs of state (Istana, Supreme Court, AGO, AGC) and statutory boards.

Sarjit served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at NTU from 2010 to 2016 given his expertise in Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Ethics, Auditing, and Financial Reporting and Analysis. Sarjit currently holds several industry appointments, including:

Stefan is an industrial and development economist and has more than 20 years of experience in multilateral and international organizations, including 5 years in investment services and 11 years in ESG/Sustainability advisory services of the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a sister organization of the World Bank Group). He last held the position of Senior Corporate Governance (CG) Officer for investment services in IFC for Asia-Pacific, based in Mumbai. Key responsibilities included ensuring ESG/sustainability best practices of clients in line with IFC-World Bank Performance Standards and CG Methodology, delivering high-quality CG risk management support, and improving ESG processes and procedures. He has delivered many CG assessments and courses across different industries (financial institutions, infrastructure, manufacturing and agribusiness), supported the investment team in CG due-diligence for sovereign wealth funds and state-owned enterprises based on Santiago Principles and IFC SOE Directive, provided inputs on CG issues in transaction documents, as well as drafted CG action plans for clients.

Stefan is the key author of IFC CG Guidance, Tip-Sheet on Integrity Assessment, Tip-Sheet on Company Leadership and Tip-Sheet on Disclosure & Transparency. Stefan is an IFC-certified CG trainer, an Asian Development Bank certified trainer on micro-finance, a scholar of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), and a qualified risk director.

Sunil has over 22 years of experience within the Energy and Sustainability sectors. As a Director at KPMG, he is responsible for managing decarbonization practices for the region. He has started working in infrastructure, industry, data center, and real estate domains with various MNCs (Johnson Controls, UTC-Carrier, Schneider Electric, and Philips). In his entrepreneurship assignment, he was a core member of an energy management Start-up in Singapore. In his last roles as the head of the Building Performance and Sustainability (BPS) business unit within Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Singapore, he has been instrumental in engaging key members within the public and private sectors to adopt smart decarbonization solutions. He has also played an important role in Siemens’ pledge to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Sunil has led his team in helping numerous organizations in the ASEAN region to improve their carbon footprint, reduce overall operating costs and improve their competitiveness in the market. Sunil is a key enabler of smart infrastructure in line with our vision for a Smart Nation. Zernil Lurthanathan is a highly experienced and accomplished professional with over 19 years of experience in the Malaysian financial industry both as a regulator and regulatee. She currently heads the Risk Strategy, Transformation & Enterprise Risk Insights for RHB Banking Group.

Zernil’s career started in 2005 as a Management Trainee for Great Eastern Life Assurance before moving on to the Central Bank of Malaysia in 2007 to be part of the risk management and policy development team. With sound regulatory and policy background, she transitioned into the capital market industry, helming the position of Head Regulatory Strategy & Data Analytics at Malaysian Stock Exchange in 2012. She then diversified further to the banking industry joining CIMB Bank in 2018, where she was a Director within Group Risk leading successful Risk Strategy & Regional Risk-Based Machine Learning projects. She then moved to RHB Bank in 2021 to set-up and build the Risk Strategy, Transformation & Enterprise Risk Analytics. She is also the Project Director of the Bank’s Group Climate Action Programme.

Zernil has a unique combination of strategy, analytics and risk background, enabling her to drive complex and technical risk discipline with the application of Decision Science principles. She has delivered agile analytics sprints to improve effectiveness and efficiencies across risk functions. She has a keen eye for change management and thrives in complex problem solving.

Zernil holds MSc in Decision Sciences from London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Hons in Decision Sciences from Universiti Utara Malaysia. She is the recipient of multiple awards including the recipient of the 2004/2005 Malaysian Royal Education Award.
